THYROID AND ADRENAL HEALTH

Thyroid

Thyroid disorders occur more frequently in women and are not at all uncommon during the years leading up to menopause and beyond. Typical signs of poor thyroid function include: difficulty losing weight, low body temperature, constipation, dry skin, hair loss, fatigue, depression and brain fog. Patients who seek conventional medical care for suspected hypothyroidism will often be told that their lab results are “normal” but this is usually due to inadequate testing methods. Once properly diagnosed, clinical nutrients, herbs and bio-identical thyroid support can do wonders for restarting a sluggish thyroid gland and restoring vitality.

Adrenal

First described by James Wilson MD, adrenal fatigue is a collection of signs and symptoms that results when the adrenal glands function below the necessary level. This can occur as a result of chronic mental, physical or emotional stress that taxes the hormone production of the adrenal glands and wipes out energy levels.

Common symptoms of adrenal fatigue include difficulty falling asleep at night, staying asleep, difficulty waking up and increased of food cravings, especially for salt and sugar. People with adrenal fatigue feel tired all the time. Addressing adrenal health with diet, appropriate exercise and clinical nutrients can provide the foundation for success with all other hormonal treatment plans.
